Straight needles (or a circular needle worked back and forth) in your gauge size; a tapestry needle.

13 stitches × 16 rows = 10 cm in the body stitch, after blocking.

Work 6 rows in garter stitch (knit every row) over all stitches.

RS row: 4 sts in garter stitch, knit 25 sts, 4 sts in garter stitch. WS row: 4 sts in garter stitch, purl 25 sts, 4 sts in garter stitch. Repeat these 2 rows for 278 rows in all.

Top border

Work 6 rows in garter stitch (knit every row) over all stitches.
