  • 40 cm circular needle (shorter than the cowl’s circumference) in your gauge size; a ; a tapestry needle.

23 stitches × 35 rows = 10 cm in the body stitch, after blocking.

Bottom border

128 stitches. Join in the round without twisting; place a beginning-of-round .

Work 14 rounds in 2×2 rib (*k2, p2*).

Next round, knit, adjusting the stitch count: k128, M1L. You now have 129 stitches.

Body

Knit every stitch for 60 rounds.

Top border

Next round, knit, adjusting the stitch count: k127, k2tog. You now have 128 stitches.

Work 14 rounds in 2×2 rib (*k2, p2*).
