48 stitches. Join in the round without twisting; place a beginning-of-round .

Work 5 rounds in 2×2 rib (*k2, p2*).

Next round, knit, adjusting the stitch count: *k22, k2tog* 2 times. You now have 46 stitches.

Body

Knit every stitch for 19 rounds.

Top border

Next round, knit, adjusting the stitch count: *k23, M1L* 2 times. You now have 48 stitches.

Work 5 rounds in 2×2 rib (*k2, p2*).
